Batteries are not protected from over-discharge. Thus batteries are always prone to damage due to such a condition. Controller protects batteries from over discharge by effecting a shutdown as soon as the low battery voltage is detected.
No fault diagnosis is there to monitor the contactor faults like welded contacts, open or short coil, etc. Almost every Curtis controller has built-in contactor fault diagnostic capabilities to monitor them continuously for any such  fault.
High running costs incurred on maintenance of battery, motor and contactor. Controller features and protection result In very low maintenance costs.
